the present administration's Commitment to the Privatization Programme is Assured:Osinbajo

Acting President Yemi Osinbajo has declared that the present administration's commitment to the privatization programme is assured.

Prof. Osinbajo said the administration would continue to do everything to support investors to maximize the potential of their assets.

He spoke yesterday in Port Harcourt, Rivers State at the formal release ceremony to discharge Indorama Eleme Petrochemicals Ltd (IEPL) from the monitoring programme of Bureau of Public Enterprises.

Osinbajo, who chairs the National Council on Privatisation, noted that the present administration was committed to the success of the private sector.

The acting president emphasised that the kind of economic growth and prosperity the Federal Government was targeting could not happen without private capital.

He said such private capital cannot be unlocked without reforming the business environment by removing obstacles and roadblocks to investment and business operations.

Osinbajo said the results of the Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council established last year by President Muhammadu Buhari, were now starting to be felt across the country.

He assured that the government would continue to support Indorama Eleme Petrochemicals Limited’s expansion ambitions.
